  • It was the foundation of my lifestyle for the time I lived there. I would go there every Sunday. Pastor was nice he really could form a good reading. I really loved it.

  • This was a very sweet and dear church--small but sincere. I went to a Saturday evening mass, it was full--the people seem very devout and genuine. The priest was very dear also. I was visiting Albuquerque and this was the closest church to my hotel, and I am so glad I went. It was just what I needed during a business trip. I felt very much at home and enjoyed the mass so much. Very tender community.

  • I think we have all had experiences when it has been difficult to understand what is being said due to a Priest or Deacon having a thick accent. The Catholic Church is experiencing a shortage of Priests. Perhaps a partial solution would be to study the day’s readings before attending Mass. Also, many Catholic homilies can be found online and are probably somewhat similar to the Homily you will hear at your Mass. Please consider taking the time to read a few Homilies before going to Mass. I was pleasantly surprised how much more engaged I was having read a little before Mass. Finally, consider saying a prayer before Mass asking GOD to help you understand the WORD being spoken. I hope this helps a little. May GOD bless you. Please remember the Sacrifices that our Priests have made to tend to GOD’s people.

S.O.S.....S.O.S......S.O.S.....Save our Spirit, Save our Sundays, Save our Sanity. I was taught that if you don't have something nice to say, then don't say anything at all. I have tried to adhere to that philosophy as much as possible - even when it came to writing this review. HOWEVER, something needs to be said, and someone needs to say it. So I will.

In my opinion a church should be filled with joy, adoration, inspiration and passion. I mean you are going to church to pray, give thanks and adoration to God - any maybe...just maybe..leave enriched and inspired. It seems like this would be a no-brainer for a pastor and anyone else involved with Sunday services. At Sangre De Cristo, however, none of these qualities exists. In fact, the service and homilies are so void of energy and commitment, you can feel the life getting sucked out of you right before your very eyes. The thing is, everyone in the congregation knows this. It's like a little secret that no one will share or speak out loud though.

I am not here to judge anyone. I am not meaning for this to be a personal criticism. I am only sharing my experiences. I am doing so in the hope that something can, and will be done, to save this church - and re-invigorate the people who go to Mass there. There is so much potential there, but potential has to be nurtured and developed. It doesn't just grow into something meaningful on its own. The choir is ready. The parishioners are ready. The Lord is ready......hopefully others are ready as well.

Horrible music program and a Priest one can barely understand, his accent is so thick. So of course, he has to give inappropriately looooong sermons. I'm surprised this Church can even stay afloat, their approach is so backwater. They've had money and attendance problems FOR YEARS, I don't know why they just don't close? Plus, there's a SECTION 8 ghetto right next door. And true, their little "makeover" was quite pathetic, this place STINKS. They didn't even have soap in the men's bathroom for like, six months. I'd rate it ZERO

  • A very pleasant church community. Welcoming congregation. The person who wrote her review 6 years ago should remove it. It is an example of the sin of slander.
